Where to go on May: sailing camp in Sochi, racing in Gelendzhik and a trip around Moscow

The weath­er seems to be get­ting bet­ter, and the long May week­end is approach­ing, which I real­ly want to spend in the fresh air. If you pre­fer more active recre­ation options to bar­be­cues and dachas, then we have some­thing to offer — togeth­er with our friends from the Pow­er of the Wind yacht­ing com­mu­ni­ty.

A real six-day fes­ti­val based in the cen­ter of Sochi: 120 peo­ple, sports yachts Elan 210, lec­tures, film screen­ings and par­ties. The pro­gram includes five inten­sive train­ings and races in the Black Sea, three lec­tures on sail­ing the­o­ry, which can be imme­di­ate­ly test­ed in prac­tice, as well as a vari­ety of enter­tain­ment on the shore with a secret trip for the whole day.

The sail­ing camp is designed for both begin­ners and expe­ri­enced yachts­men. Each boat will have a pro­fes­sion­al instruc­tor who will teach every­thing to new sail­ing fans, and help more expe­ri­enced sailors hone their skills, bet­ter under­stand the materiel and mas­ter the new water area.

Anoth­er point on the Pow­er of the Wind map where train­ing takes place all year round, enough to come up with the per­fect four-day pro­gram of train­ing, rac­ing and fun. Class­es here are held on SV20 sports yachts, accom­pa­nied by instruc­tors who quick­ly accel­er­ate and stop at the right time.

Gelendzhik is ide­al for train­ing with any expe­ri­ence and wind direc­tion, as well as for a real break from big cities: a qui­et embank­ment, a win­ery, a moun­tain and a bay.

Six days on the icon­ic sin­gle yachts, train­ing, lec­tures and debrief­ing in the atmos­phere of a real sports camp for adults. Accom­mo­da­tion — in the sports com­plex, where the Olympic team is trained. The morn­ing at the camp will begin with a morn­ing exer­cise over­look­ing the sea, learn­ing about the aero­dy­nam­ics of the boat and new con­trol tech­niques that you can imme­di­ate­ly try out on the water. Par­tic­i­pants will also be able to work out the strat­e­gy of behav­ior in sail­ing com­pe­ti­tions — a great bonus for the begin­ning of the sea­son in more north­ern cities. After each work­out, a detailed analy­sis with a video is pro­vid­ed so as not to repeat the mis­takes.

The camp is suit­able for both expe­ri­enced yachts­men and begin­ners. All par­tic­i­pants will be divid­ed into groups accord­ing to their expe­ri­ence.

Five hours under sail with a depar­ture from the base in Bery­oz­ki, prac­tice and maneu­vers, fresh wind and the oppor­tu­ni­ty to see a com­plete­ly dif­fer­ent Moscow from the water. First you will need to get to the park­ing lot, then set up a camp for the night and cook din­ner on the grill. With friends — more fun and cheap­er.

When you don’t want to go any­where, but you need to relax, go to com­fort­able hous­es on the banks of the Pirogov­sky reser­voir. An ide­al place to sleep, breathe fresh air and walk through the for­est away from the hus­tle and bus­tle.

On the ter­ri­to­ry of the sail­ing base, right on the first line by the water, the Forces of the Wind team has equipped ten for­mer sea con­tain­ers with a panoram­ic view of the water area, which have every­thing you need for a relaxed coun­try hol­i­day through­out the year. In ear­ly May, the sail­ing sea­son starts, so accom­mo­da­tion can be com­bined with train­ing.
