Colorful sawdust carpets in Antigua


Easter is a widespread holiday. In different parts of the world there are unusual traditions of this holiday, which distinguishes the ordinary celebration of this celebration: going to church and painting eggs.

In Antigua, people celebrate Semana Santa or Holy Week to observe a religious holiday; and one of the ways to celebrate includes making unusual carpets from sawdust. Each specimen is completely different, with various brightly colored sawdust intertwined with other natural materials such as flowers, pine needles and various fruits. It takes a lot of time to create such a carpet, but the result is worth it, the streets become bright and festive thanks to this unusual tradition.
